And then there was a great sundering …

… it’s been a long, long time.

As such, diving back into the WFL necessitates some hard choices. Here’s how we’re moving forward:

  • We’re going to restart Year III. So the nearly 5 weeks of games that are detailed below … poof … never happened.
  • We’ve been doing all sorts of stuff to fill out the rosters, trying hard to integrate more post-2018 players into the teams.
  • Here’s the biggest change: this project really only has a shot at success if I’m not playing each game by hand. So I will be changing this space to be more of a weekly summary and team notes kind of structure. It’s a bit of a shame, as I think the way the team pages are and the game writeups look is pretty cool, but it takes too much time and, honestly, too much frustration: the lack of an OOTP quality American Football game is really quite striking. Action PC! remains, I think, the best of what’s out there, but it’s unfortunately not a terribly high bar.
  • As such, we’re deep in the swamp of trying to get computer gm’s customized for each of the teams. Action PC! games don’t make it particularly easy or fun to do so. But we’re nothing if not persistent.

I may post some information about that process in the vain hope of assisting other Action PC! gamers. Regardless, the next published information will be

  • Redoing each of the team pages to reflect the new rosters and preseason expectations/notes.
  • Playing out the first week, and posting a long TWIWF as well as updates to the team pages.
  • Rinse, lather, repeat.

We’ll see how all that goes!
