It was a quiet week on the injury front for the league–a welcome break for most teams!
#AAA
With LaDainian Tomlinson and Marcus McNeill both out for their next game, there’s increased question as to whether Addis can maintain their unbeaten record: neither Ryan Mathews nor Donald Brown have been impressive at RB and both D.J. Fluker and Khalif Barnes are a significant step down from McNeill.
#BEI
Austin Sefarian-Jenkins will be out for almost all of the rest of the season, opening the door for new signee Clint Didier at TE. More importantly, the Red Stars will welcome back Ken Houston, Wilbur Marshall, and Art Monk from the injury list.
#BER
The Bärin welcome back a lot of first-string players, most notably starters at QB (Sid Luckman), DE (John Abraham), and S (Ray Brown). There are injuries to deal with on the OL, especially behind Jeff Van Note at C, but this will be the healthiest Berlin side in quite some time.
#BOS
Boston’s depth will be sorely tested as Curtis Martin, Larry Grantham, and Kevin Mawae all went down with long term injuries this week. Martin’s joins Chris Johnson on IR, leaving the Bulldogs’ RB chores in the hands of Chris Ivory, Bruce Harper, and newly drafted Joe McKnight.
#DUB
Dublin now has six OL on IR. Look for Ben Jones and Duane Brown to see significant time in the coming game. Don Hutson will be out for about 2 months, and the Damhas are looking for one of Dave Hanner and B.J. Raji to cement the reserve DT spot.
#RIO
Jim Brown, Len Dawson, and Ben Davis all return this week: Dawson especially was missed. With Vance Walker joining Dontari Poe on the injured list, the Carnival brought DT Joe Phillips directly into the squad.
#SFO
The Sea Lions welcome back 3 key players this week, with Jairus Byrd, Joe Staley, and Marques Colston all returning. That’s the good news. The bad is that starting G Randy Cross will likely miss the rest of the season; look for Alex Boone and Mike Iupati to get many of the snaps in his place.
