01.06 This Week in Whirled Football

#AMS

The Lions continue to suffer with 14 players on the injured list. The offensive line continues to suffer with Larry Worford, Andrew Norwell, and Nate Chandler all out. Look for newly signed Rob Sims to see some snaps there, along with TE Charlie Sanders, who will be trying to cement a spot in the absence of both Wesley Walls and Brandon Pettigrew.

#BEI

This week will be rough, with Cliff Battles, Derrick Brooks, Darrell Green, and Alfred Morris all out, but they should be back soon enough. That will be great news for the Red Stars, as the team is pretty decimated at the moment. But if those four come back, there may be hope in Beijing.

#BOS

Not the best of weeks for the Bulldogs. Rob Gronkowski‘s injury worsened, and both Sebastian Vollmer and Brandon Browner are out for extended periods. Look for Ty Law and Dee Milliner to see some snaps.

#CTO

Teddy Bridgewater‘s return is timely, especially with Fran Tarkenton‘s being out. Michael Floyd, E.J. Junior, and Toby Gerhart may benefit from the rash of injuries, of which perhaps Cordarrell Patterson will be the surprise obstacle for the team, given his efficiency in the return game. Patrick Peterson and Matt Asiata will get more time in the return game.

#IST

Johnny Unitas gets a week to see if he can fill Ben Roethlisberger‘s shoes. We’ll see. Mike Webster will be missed, but the Janissaries may be the strongest team in the league at C with Maurkice Pouncey as his backup.

#LON

Tony Romo is out for a few weeks, giving Russell Wilson a couple games to see if he does better at the helm.

#ROM

A disaster of a week for the Empire: Robert Geathers, Edgerrin James, Geno Atkins, Cedric Peerman, Andre Smith, and Vontae Davis are all out for at least a week.Cory Redding‘s return will help, and Deltha O’Neal and Ken Riley look like they can help in the secondary.
