The WFL’s only South American representative could have a fantastic season. It starts and ends with Jim Brown, but if the offense can add some diversity, the defense should be plenty stout to reach the postseason.
OFFENSE
Pro Basic I – I Formation
Jamaal Charles is a great understudy, but the blocking of Anthony Sherman may end up being just as important: with Will Shields, Lou Groza, and Joe Thomas up front, there should be a lot of holes opening for Brown, and plenty of protection when Len Dawson needs to throw the ball.
DEFENSE
3-4; 5-4; 3-2/2-4
It’s a weird defense: lots of pieces, but not necessarily a great fit. First, there’s Bobby Bell, who will move around quite a bit, but there’s little pass rush up front, increasing the pressure on Clay Matthews and Derrick Thomas to perform. The secondary is decent, led by safety Johnny Robinson.
COACHING TENDENCIES
Moderate Running.
