This should be familiar: hopes for Royal Giants fans rest on the shoulders of Tiki Barber and a strong defense. If Y.A. Tittle is fantastic, and if the secondary can hold up, there could be postseason play in the Polo Grounds.
OFFENSE
Pro Basic – I Formation
Barber is good, but this offensive line could make anyone look like a GOAT: running behind Mel Hein, Pete Henry, Tony Boselli, and Chris Snee should be more pleasure than pain for Barber and Maurice Jones-Drew. Which is good, because Tittle’s options–outside of the superb Odell Beckham, Jr. are inconsistent at best: Victor Cruz and Plaxico Burress can be great, but they can also be downright mediocre.
DEFENSE
3-4; 5-4; 2-4
The linebackers are fantastic: Lawrence Taylor, Brad Van Pelt and Jon Beason. But the rest is surprisingly mediocre: relying on Henry and Hein on defense makes the roster more flexible, but really they aren’t two-way players at this level, and outside of Jason Pierre-Paul and Michael Strahan, the Giants may struggle up front.
COACHING TENDENCIES
Very Strong Run.
