I just don’t see it. Walter Payton is fantastic, but the team overall leaves me with a bit of a meh feeling: they should win as many as they lose, but that doesn’t get you to the playoffs. The argument for their success centers around Sid Luckman: as he goes, so will the Bärin.
OFFENSE
Pro Basic – Pro Set
Sweetness, Luckman, and Brandon Marshall provide the peaks. The problem is there isn’t a whole lot of star power behind them. There is quite a gap between the primary three lineman (Joe Stydahar, Kyle Long, and Jeff Van Note) and the rest, so injuries may also play their part.
DEFENSE
3-4; 4-4; 3-3
Everything revolves around Dick Butkus and Mike Singletary. As long as they are anchoring the center of the defense, they should be fine.
