The Roman Empire Season Preview

The only hope for Rome is that Peyton Manning can outscore the other team. And, maybe he can. But the defense just looks too weak overall for much more than the stumbles of an empire in decline.

OFFENSE

Pro Basic – Pro Set

The talent is certainly there on this side of the ball: defenses will have to choose between Edgerrin James and James Brooks from the backfield, while not giving up too much room to Marvin Harrison or A.J. Green. Scoring points should not be the issue: even if injuries hit, the team has excellent depth across the board on offense.

DEFENSE

4-3; 5-4; 3-3

There just aren’t any stars on defense here. The secondary is quite solid, led by Vontae Davis, and Shaun Phillips and Geno Atkins are good enough, but there just isn’t enough substance here to slow the kind of offense the Empire will face in the division. Could be a very difficult year on that side.

COACHING TENDENCIES

Slight Pass.
