Boston Bulldogs Season Preview

The Bulldogs could surprise: Rob Gronkowski is a nearly unique weapon; Tom Brady is a good player, even without his “intangibles” translating to the game; and there is enough high end quality in the trenches to carry them through. However, everything has to go just right, I think, for the Bulldogs to bark very loudly.

OFFENSE

2TE1RB – I Formation

The tandem of Chris Johnson and Curtis Martin should be serviceable, especially behind the trio of John HannahNick Mangold, and Logan Mankins. Brady is lacking depth in his receiving corps, but none of them are bad, it’s just a matter of whether Don Maynard or Eric Decker can step into a leading role.

DEFENSE

4-3; 5-4; 2-4

The defense should actually be stronger than the offense. Mark Gastineau and Jason Babin should provide the pressure up front, and Darrelle Revis combines with Mike Haynes to provide a pair of true shut-down corners. Led by Andre Tippett, the linebacking corps is solid, although the talent drops off quickly after Nick Buoniconti and Jerod Mayo.

COACHING TENDENCIES

Slight Pass.
